TUTORIAL: C126 CIRCLE OF LIFE MINI ALBUM BY DENISE VAN DEVENTER

For This Project You Will Need:

  • FabScraps Circle of Life Collection paper: C126 004,007, 008,011,12,
  • FabScraps Cardstock: CC009 Army Green, C011 Pansy
  • Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Distree Ink Pine Needles
  • White Gel Pen
  • Little Birdie Chuobiard Words
  • Prima Metallic Wax Peacock
  • Little Birdie Flowers – Purple Pieces
  • Feathers
  • Various Die-cut Leaves
  • Lindy’s Gang Spray – Jazzy Jivin Purple
  • Rosies Carpe Diem Rub Ons
  • White Ribbon
  • Kraft Cardstock

 Instructions:

  1. Album Pages and Cover: Spray all sides with Lindy’s Gang Jazzy Jivin Purple Spray
  • For the cover rub and edge with the Peacock Prima Wax. Colour the chipboard words with Wilted Violet & Peacock Feathers and add white gel pen highlights on the words and within the cut-out flowers.
  1. Page 1 – From the patterned papers cut a block 19cm x 19cm. Cut a turquoise block 18cm x 11cm and adhere as per the photo. Cut a script block 10cm x 9,5cm and adhere. Fussy cut the circle and adhere over a strip of ribbon.
  2. Page 2 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 16cm x 12cm from the Army Green cardstock. Cut a further script block from the patterned paper 9cm x 14cm. Cut the flower border from the patterned papers and adhere the various blocks and bits, as per the photo’s. Add faux stitching with a white gel pen.
  3. Page 3 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 14,5cm x 15cm from the Army Green cardstock. Cut 2 further smaller blocks, 8cm x 9,5cm and 7,5cm x 11cm. Fussy cut the strip of flowers and leaves from the patterned papers and adhere only the bottom part of this to the page, so that one can tuck the small squares in the top of this strip. Add faux stitching with a white gel pen.
  4. Page 4 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 14,5cm x 15cm from the patterned papers. Cut a further smaller block, 14cm x 11cm. Colour the word with Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers and adhere as per the photo. Add a flower cluster, leaves and feathers.
  5. Page 5 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 14,5cm x 15cm from the patterned papers. Add a strip of ribbon.
  6. Page 6 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 16 x 15cm from the script patterned papers. Create a pocket 9,5cm x 9,5cm to hold a tag. Add the strip of patterned flowers and flower cluster. Cut a tag to size to fit the pocket and colour with Wilted Violet. See photo for placements.
  7. Page 7 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 16 x 15cm from the army green cardstock 2cm. From the left-hand side of this green cardstock cut a 13cm slit to hold the booklet. Create the booklet from a 21cm x 12.5cm block, folded in half. Add old papers and sew into the booklet. Add a turquoise block and feather block from the patterned papers.
  8. Page 8 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a block 16 x 65cm from the script patterned papers. Fussy cut the round and flowers from the patterned papers and adhere to the page. Add flowers and leaves, as per the photo.
  9. Page 9 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut a tag holder 11cm x 14cm from the patterned papers and punch a half circle in the right-hand side. Adhere 3 sides only. Cut a tag 12cm x 12cm from the green cardstock. Create a little tab and adhere to the tag. Add faux stitching.
  10. Page 9 – From the kraft cardstock cut a block 17cm x 18cm and edge with Wilted Violet. Cut another block 16cm x 15cm from the green cardstock. Mat and cut the patterned paper block with pansy cardstock. Add flowers clusters and leaves on either side, as per the photo’s.
