TUTORIAL: C106 LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT BY VANESSA BESTER
Double Page layout
South Africa

For the Double Page you will need:

  • Frayed Burlap Distress Ink or similar.
  • Silver Metallic Paint
  • All the other usual tools and adhesives

 Instructions:

(Use the picture of the page as a guide at all times and chalk all paper and photos with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink or similar)

  1. Cut out the Chipboard Greetings as per pic and colour with Dala Metallic paint or a Silver Nuvo Glitter Pen or whatever suits your taste. Set aside to dry.
  2. Use 2 of the Sheets of Simple Pleasure C106 002 paper as your base page.
  3. Using the Pink Side of a 3rd sheet of Simple Pleasures, cut a piece a page height  X 8.75cm wide and adhere from top to bottom and flush up against the RHS of the first page.
  4. Now from the same paper cut a piece a page height X 15cm wide and adhere from top to bottom and flush up against the LHS of the second page. Note that you have 4 light grey scalloped embellishments in you kit, ensure that you adhere 3 centered vertically from underneath the RHS of the pink mat on the second page. See pic.
  5. NB NB NB  When following instructions 6,7 & 8, please ensure that you do not cut into the bottom RH corner of the front of the floral side of the sheet as you will need to fussy cut those flowers as per pic on the right.
  6.  Using the ‘Mandala” side of the Making Memories C106 001, cut a piece that is 15.5cm X 25cm and using an ordinary ruler, tear off 1/2cm from both long sides so that they are straight but slightly furry and distressed.  Adhere flush up against the RHS of page 1 and 7cm down from the top of the page.  Add a torn and distressed strip of light grey cardstock that measures approx. 13cm X 2cm coming from underneath the LHS of the “Mandala’ mat as per pic.  Ensure to adhere the light grey scalloped embellishment from underneath the LHS of the “ Mandala’ mat and cut away the top of the honeycomb die cut and insert underneath the top of the mat as per pic.
  7. Using the balance of the ‘Mandala” side of the Making Memories C106 001, cut a piece that is 15.5cm X 15cm and using an ordinary ruler, tear off 1/2cm from the top and bottom of the 15.5cm height so that it is in line with the mat on page 1 and adhere flush up against the LHS of page 2 in line with the same mat on page 1.  NB NB NB Only adhere left and right hand sides of the mat as you still need to insert flags underneath the mat as per pic.
  8. Using the dark and light cardstock, double mat in the “Mandala’ strip on both pages (lining up) as per pic ensuring that there is approx. a 1.75-2cm ‘Mandala pattern” border showing as per pic.  Add as many or as few photos into the horizontal matt as desired.  The pics do not have to be the same width, just the same height.
  9. From the 4th Sheet of Simple Pleasure C106 002, cut a pink mat that is 10 X 15cm and mat as per pic and adhere to page. Try not to cut where the flowers are if possible as you can use those to decorate your page.  We added the floral corner sticker to the bottom RHS of the pink mat.
  10. From the same sheet in no12, cut a mat that is 22.5cm X 7cm and cut a dark grey cardstock mat that is 9cm X 25.5cm. Flag on both short sides and adhere underneath “ Mandala’ matt.  Use 2 pieces of leftover “Mandala’ paper and cut into flags to slip under the top and bottom of the large grey flag as per pic.  We added the flowers/teacup sticker to the bottom of the light grey flag and on the first page, we added the sticker of the chair on the pink wash. We also added the purple flower sticker on the top RHS of the pink mat on the second page.
  11. Cut out flowers from the leftover piece of Simple Pleasure C106 002 and 3D on top RH corner of “Mandala’ mat as per pic.  We also added a flower peeping out on the top of the dark grey flag.
  12. On page 1, we cut out the flower spray, 3D and adhere to the bottom LH corner as per pic.  We used the corner that we saved from the paper as mentioned in point 8. Add die cut swirl.
  13. We adhered the 2 butterfly stickers to the center of the 2 medium sized butterflies and then using foam squares, adhered along with other butterflies.  See pic for placement. Add mini pink pearls to top LHS of first page and bottom RHS of second page.
  14. Adhere “Life is beautiful’ sticker and add fussy cut flowers as desired.
  15. Add flag trim to bottom LHS of first page and embellish with teacup sticker if desired.
