For This Project You Will Need:

  • Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray: Salvaged Patina
  • Distress Oxide Ink: Gathered Twigs, Prize Ribbon
  • White Gel Pen, Blue Fineliner

Instructions:

This album is based on a pocket style and photo’s and notes can be added to the pockets.

  1. Album Pages and Cover: Spray all sides with Salvaged Patina Distress Spray and edge with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
  • For the cover, add Ocean Blue and Gesso to the waves. Fussy cut the starfish and fishes, and layer these in and around the seashells, metal charms and gauze. Add orange acrylic paint, ocean blue paint and gesso to all the bits to age them and make them look rusty. Add the Pentart copper dots around the circle and Plum for the fish eyes and accents on the starfish.
  • Cut a circle from the patterned paper to back the circle section.
  • Add Emerald blue cardstock to the base of the cover.
  • Edge with Gathered Twigs distress oxide.
  1. Page 1 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear vertically, to create a pocket running across the right side of the page. From the patterned papers and cardstock, cut 4 inserts for the pockets. Sizes will vary according to the photo’s and notes.
  2. Page 2 – Tear the octopus image from the patterned paper, along with cardstock to sit underneath. Fussy cut seaweed and a starfish. Add a photo mat according to your size needs and then edge with string. Create a cluster with the bits, as per the photo.
  3. Page 3 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the right bottom, as per the photo. Cut an insert from the cardstock and fussy cut the Shorebreak image from the packaging material and adhere. Use string to edge and Gathered Twigs Ink.
  4. Page 4 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the left top corner, as per the photo. Cut an insert from the emerald cardstock and fussy cut the fish image from the patterned paper and adhere. Use string to edge and Gathered Twigs Ink, along with a white gel pen. Add a cluster with a blue flower and gauze.
  5. Page 5 – Use the stencil and Prize Ribbon ink to stencil on the page. Cut a photo mat to size from the emerald cardstock. Fussy cut the octopus and adhere, along with a flower and gauze, as per the photo.
  6. Page 6 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the left top corner, as per the photo. Cut 2 inserts from the Fabscraps cardstock and fussy cut the shell and seaweed image from the patterned paper and adhere for the 1 insert and a flower and gauze for the second insert. Add white gel faux stitching to the edge and Gathered Twigs ink.
  7. Page 7 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the bottom of the page, as per the photo. Cut 2 inserts from the Fabscraps patterned papers.
  8. Page 8 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the left top corner, as per the photo. Cut 2 inserts from the emerald cardstock and fussy cut the Shorebreak image from the packaging and adhere for the 1 insert, along with a flower and gauze. Add a white gel border and string to the edge and Gathered Twigs ink.
  9. Page 9 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the left top corner, as per the photo. Cut 2 inserts from the emerald cardstock and Fabscraps cardstock. Fussy cut the jellyfish image from the patterned paper and adhere for the 1 insert. On the second insert do some gesso stencilling on the bottom.
  10. Page 10 – Cut the patterned paper to size of the page and tear to create a pocket on the right top corner, as per the photo. Cut 1 inserts from the emerald cardstock and add a flower and gauze cluster. Edge with Gathered Twigs, a white gel pen and string.
  11. Tie some twine and charms to the rings, along with some blue ribbon.
  12. All Done!
